What Hollywood Believes
What
Hollywood Believes is finally in our
hands! This book, written by Ray Comfort, has
so much evangelistic potential, we can't say enough
about it!
The world’s interest in celebrities is
insatiable. Prime time television reflects this,
with shows such as “Access Hollywood,”
“Hollywood HD,” “Hollywood
Squares,” “Celebrity Justice,”
“Entertainment Tonight,” and “Inside
Edition.” Look at newsstands and see how
many celebrity faces you see on magazine covers.
Interest in anything they do is voracious—what
they wear, where they go, what they eat, what
they are working on, where they live, who’s
dating whom.
National news reports recently stated that
someone had been taking pictures of items in
celebrities’ trash, and was selling the
pictures for up to $6000. People are apparently
anxious to know what the celebrities are eating
for breakfast, what magazines they are reading,
etc. So their intimate personal belief about
issues such as the afterlife, God, the Bible,
etc., are of great interest to the secular world.
There is nothing like this book on the market.
It is unique, and has huge evangelistic potential.
It
contains the personal beliefs of Jim Carrey,
Britney Spears, Bruce Willis, Jack Nicholson,
Kevin Costner, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael
J. Fox, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Hugh Hefner,
Robert Duvall, and Rosie O’Donnell . .
. a total of 124 big name celebrities.
Not many people know that George Lucus said
that he produced Star Wars so that young people
would seek after God, that Frank Sinatra believed
in God and in the Sermon on the Mount. John
Wayne said some very interesting things about
God just before he died, Gregory Peck read the
whole Bible and found it enriching. One famous
actor thinks that God is a woman, some are atheists,
while many pray every day, and believe the Bible.
The book isn’t just fluff. Comments are
added throughout that address many of the celebrity’s
difficulties about the things of God, both their
objections and questions—why there is
suffering, who made God?, rampant hypocrisy
in the church, etc., and the book presents a
very clear gospel message in a number of places.
My editor (Lynn Copeland) excelled on this publication.
It is a hardback 208 page book, has extremely
high quality graphics, with a gold leaf title
and an embossed gold-foil cover.
Even though large publishers were interested
in it, we decided to retain the publishing rights.
That means that we have to match the retail
price that stores offer, but we have the liberty
to offer “specials” to our customers.
So
the first copy is $15.99, but if you get two
copies they will cost $20.00. Five copies will
only be $32.00, or you can call for prices
on a case of books.
Although we have a publicity machine to help
us get this book into the secular market, we
would ask you to consider being part of the
marketing team. Don’t underestimate what
you can do to help us. Just one phone call from
you to your local Barnes & Noble bookstore
(or any book store), asking if they have the
book could spur them to look it up on their
computer system, and order copies. It is simply
a matter of pulling it into the secular market.
We are confident that once it’s in the
stores, it will take off from there.

| OPEN
INVITATION
Join us on
location this Saturday...
This Saturday, July 31st,
we have an amazing opportunity! Fill your
pockets with gospel tracts and come out
ready to witness! The Way of the Master
crew is going to be on location doing interviews
for the upcoming program on Satanism. "Ozzfest,"
a huge heavy metal concert held near San
Bernardino, is a prime location for talking
to people who are involved in Satanism.
DETAILS
Date:
Saturday, July 31st
Time:
The Way of the Master crew will
arrive around 8:00 p.m.
Meeting
Place: Our camera
crews plan to stay close-by
the festival entrance, you can
look for us there.
Location:
Ozzfest will be held in the
Hyundia Pavilion, 2575 Glen
Helen Pkwy., Devore, CA 92407
(55 miles east of downtown L.A.)
You can get
directions here.
A
few notes: Please
bring Gospel tracts to hand
out. Additionally, please consider
wearing neutral clothing...
clothing with bold Christian
slogans may trigger rejection
before you can utter a single
word. |
|
Here's
where you come in... we
need volunteers who will help us get interviews.
This means we need people who are bold enough
to approach those entering the festival,
ask them to do an interview, and get them
to sign a waiver. It's that simple. We also
want to see people handing out tracts and
doing one-on-one witnessing. Put off whatever
plans you may have had for Saturday night,
and come on out and join us! |

| VH1
Interview
"Religion"
and Pop Culture...
-- By Kirk Cameron
I recently did an interview
with VH1 discussing why so many celebrities
are more vocal about their religious beliefs.
(Madonna is into the Kabala, Tom Cruise
- Scientology, Richard Gere - Buddisim...
etc.) It turned out to be a wonderful opportunity
to share my faith without compromising and
hopefully direct many VH1 / MTV watchers
to WayOfTheMaster.com
where they can learn more about the Gospel.

Beach.

Boot
Camp Take 2
We had another GNN
Evangelism Boot Camp this month. Sixty
individuals from all over the world spent
four days here in the L.A. area pushing
their own evangelistic "limits."
These "seed sowing superstars"
passed out literally thousands of tracts,
and spoke to hundreds of people one-on-one.
But on top of that, almost every single
student ended up open-air preaching at least
once! These people tell us this was one
of the most challenging and life changing
experiences they've ever had.
Now
its your turn! The next boot camp
is going to be held in Dallas,
Texas, October 14th through the 17th.
This boot camp will be held in association
with, and at the facilities of, "Christ
for the Nations." The Dallas "boot
campers" will be flexing their evangelistic
muscle at the Texas State Fair. (The State
Fair of Texas is considered to be the largest
state fair in the United States--it covers
a 277-acre entertainment and recreation
complex.) In this venue there will be plenty
of opportunity for open-air preaching and
perfecting those one-on-one witnessing skills.
If you want to be included, please
book early as it will be limited to one
hundred people. See www.thegreatnews.com
for details.

| When
Giving Out Tracts
-- By Ray Comfort
Kirk told me that when he
has been giving out tracts, he adds, "A
friend of mine wrote it..." He said
that people warm up to the tract when he
has said that. I have had many of my friends
say that they also use that line, and how
effective it was. So, I would like you to
be my friend, and if you so wish, please
use the phrase. I am sincere about this.
We look on all of you as friends as well
as brothers and sisters in Christ... and
we thank God for you.

Grab
a cup of coffee
and dig in. We
offer these stories
to encourage you
that ANYONE can
share their faith.
These are real
people, just like
you... if they
can do it -- you
can do it!
Life is
quick -- stay
focused.

We got a booth;
we had a blast!
::..
This one sent
in by Kurt P.,
Bartlesville,
OK.
Hey, I just
wanted to confirm
what your newsletter
addendum said
concerning taking
every advantage
of this year's
festivals. Our
little "Bible-belt"
town has what's
known as Sunfest
every June.
We purchased
a booth space,
got a
blow up of Mr.
Einstein,
and folks...what
a blast! We
spent three
days using your
IQ
Surveys,
and passing
out your tracts.
We even printed
up some tracts
that said "Welcome
to SUNFEST"
with a schedule
and Gospel message
within. We had
many contacts
and I must say
that the majority
of them had
created a god
in their own
image. After
speaking to
two young men
about the importance
of repentance,
they assured
me they had
repented and
trusted Christ.
I then shared
how Jesus said
that lust is
as adultery.
"Have you
ever lusted?"
I asked. The
response? "Heck
yeah! That's
why we're here!"
I told him "See?
You haven't
repented."
The expression
on his face
said it all
and confirmed
Romans 3:19.
He was speechless.
I must say that
tears fill my
eyes recalling
this event.
If what I saw
this past weekend
here in the
Bible belt is
any reflection
of the spiritual
condition of
our nation,
we have work
to do! Perhaps
only one percent
of the people
that believed
they were saved
actually read
their Bible
daily. Thanks
for providing
the weapons
we need to go
into battle.
God bless you
and yours. Acts
18:9 "Do
not be afraid;
keep on speaking,
do not be silent."

Less than two
weeks later...

S., Louisville,

I
recently received
a gift copy
of [the
audio set]
from my dad.
He told me about
you and your
site a while
ago. As any
normal procrastinating
human being,
I didn't listen
to the tapes
for a while.
However, he
bugged me enough
about it that
I finally listened
just to keep
from being embarrassed.
I was blown
away. Anyone
who has not
heard this series
needs but to
listen to the
first tape and
their previous
view on evangelism
will be completely
turned upside
down. I thought,
"Well isn't
that simple.
I could do that!"
As soon as I
listened to
the first tape,
I had my wife
listen to it
and she said
the same thing
I did - it makes
sense and it's
totally different
from what we've
been taught
about how to
evangelize.
It turns out
that I listened
to the tapes
just in time.
My wife's father
was dying of
liver cancer
for the last
year and a half.
He was unsaved
and previous
attempts by
my wife to witness
to him years
before had been
fruitless (bad
experience at
church - "All
they want is
your money,"
etc). I was
burdened about
Joe who had
recently taken
a turn for the
worse. He lived
about ninety
minutes from
us so although
it wasn't too
far to visit,
we had to set
aside a day
anytime we wanted
to see her parents.
Knowing he had
just a few weeks
left, I said
we needed to
get down there
so I could witness
to him. What
did I have to
lose, I reasoned.
The worst he
could do was
not listen,
and he was already
bedridden so
I knew he couldn't
leave the room.
Besides, time
was short. We
drove down to
see Joe that
morning (listening
to the tape
the whole way),
and it just
happened that
his wife had
a three hour
doctor appointment
which she left
for just as
we got there
- thank you
Lord! I sent
my wife upstairs
and talked to
Joe for a few
minutes. He
was in obvious
pain and discomfort
despite the
medication he
was taking.
I said, "Joe,
I want to talk
to you about
something, and
it's probably
not your favorite
subject, but
because I care
about you, I
want you to
hear me out
for just ten
minutes - is
that okay?"
He said sure
it was. I took
him through
the law (as
taught in Hell's
Best Kept Secret)
and the plan
of salvation
and he trusted
Christ. He had
tears in his
eyes as he shook
my hand in obvious
gratitude. My
wife was overjoyed.
(At his largely
attended funeral
the pastor told
this story,
admonishing
everyone present
to examine their
own lives in
view of Joe's
conversion.)
One week later
Joe was unable
to communicate
in any long
conversations.
Joe went to
be with the
Lord less than
two weeks after
our ten-minute
talk. Thank
God my father
bugged me enough.
What if I had
waited one more
week!

My life is changed
forever! ::..
This one sent
in by Dave B.
In
all the years
I have been
a Christian
I
have never heard
a greater revelation
on biblical
evangelism.
I have had to
do a lot of
self examination
lately due to
the fact I am
also an evangelist
and have been
preaching the
modern Gospel
for my entire
ministry life.
I even held
seminars on
relationship,
friendship and
prophetic evangelism.
Sure I might
of stirred up
some people
but nothing
like this. When
I caught hold
of your teaching
I won six people
to the Lord
in the next
few weeks. Happily
I might add
they have shown
true fruits
of genuine remorse
for their sin
and wonderful
joy when they
found out there
was a way to
escape the wrath
to come! Thank
you Kirk and
Ray for obeying
God in this
message. I will
never be the
same, my life
is changed forever!
God Bless you,
and thanks again.
